Born into a Malaysian-Russian family in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, Martin Petronas Twin developed an early fascination with the convergence of Eastern and Western artistic traditions. His unique name - a playful nod to Malaysia's iconic Petronas Twin Towers - reflects his dual heritage and the twin pillars of his artistic vision.
Trained at the prestigious École des Beaux-Arts in Paris and later at the Repin Academy in St. Petersburg, Martin mastered the classical techniques of European oil painting while maintaining a distinctly contemporary perspective.
His signature subject - Peter the Great - represents more than historical documentation. For Martin, the Russian emperor symbolizes transformation, vision, and the courage to bridge cultures, themes that resonate deeply with his own multicultural identity.
Artistic Philosophy
